Leonid Sorkin joined Honeywell in 2005. In 1991 Leonid Sorkin created a Russian/USA joint venture Petrocom. During almost 14 years under leadership of Leonid Sorkin Petrocom was dominating in processing industries of Russia and CIS. In 2005 after acquisition of Petrocom by Honeywell Leonid Sorkin accepted position of Strategy and Business Development Director. Prior to Petrocom Leonid worked for 17 years at the Institute of Control Sciences where he developed theoretical basis, algorithms and models for advanced planning and control of production in process industries.

Leonid Sorkin obtained a degree of Doctor of technical sciences in 1990, in 1998 – title of Professor from Russian Ministry of Science and Education. He graduated from the Moscow University of Chemical Engineering. Professor Leonid Sorkin is also head of the Chair of Technical Cybernetics in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University), Board Member of the Institute of Control Sciences of RAS (Moscow) and Board Member of Technological University (St.-Petersburg). He is the author of more than 90 papers and three books.
